Welcome to
Diablo Valley Veterans Foundation!
There is no better time than now to help our nation's Veterans and to show them how much we love, support, and most importantly, respect the tremendous commitment and sacrifice they have made (and are making) for our country. The Diablo Valley Veterans Foundation is committed to this goal.
30 April 2022 Give Veterans a Smile
The S. Alameda County Dental Society sure did Give Veterans a Smile on April 30.
Led by Dr. Andrew Wong and Melinda Sciandri and a cast of 20 volunteer Dentists and Dental Technicians, more than 35 veterans were provided with free dental care that included Cleaning, Dentures, Extraction, X-Rays and an oral health kit.
All total, the Dental volunteers provided free services for the day amounting to approximately $36,000.
As the Veterans waited for their treatment, EBSD Pet Care Coordinator Lisa Healy and volunteers from Canine Comfort walked their Therapy dogs around the facility ‘meeting new friends and providing comfort and smiles to all’. For those Veterans who were eligible, a Covid vaccination/booster shot was provided.
EBSD provided refreshments throughout the day to Veterans and Volunteers.
Other big supporters during the day were Las Positas College Veteran First program; represented by Evelyn Andrews and the Blue Star Moms; represented by Suzie and Janine.
A final shout of support to Melinda Sciandri, also as a regular EBSD contributor, for her tenacious planning and follow through to a successful conclusion for the day.
