The local Veteran support story: The Diablo Valley Veterans Foundation voted to give $5000, then the VFW gave $3000, then the Veterans Memorial Building gave $2000, then the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley kicked in $3500 (to beat the VFW), then the American Legion gave $3500, and finally the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance program topped it off for a total of $20,000.
